Гипнотический Петербург began life as an acid jam session deep in the dark Russian/Saint Petersburg winter of 2014. Half a year later, the band had recorded six albums and played it's first live show. The music was warmly received by the Saint Petersburg underground and Гипнотический Петербург began playing more and more shows and receiving wider recognition. The distinction between studio and live recordings began to fade as the group's members developed an almost purely improvisational sound. Chosen Hypnas is a compilation of recordings from numerous jam sessions that took place over six years at various festivals, radio shows and small clubs, as well as several early studio tracks considered representative of the classical Гипнотический Петербург sound by fans and the musicians themselves.
